This window was commissioned as a memorial to a young pupil of Goldsmith Infant School, Portsmouth, Hampshire, U.K. Four year old Edward Blake had his dream to take part in a PE lesson with his classmates fulfilled at the school. The window features Edward's most treasured possessions, his red wellies, and a pair of trainers. The bird box is like the one which marks his final resting place in the South Downs Natural Burial Site.
Beneath the school's symbol of a sunflower, children linking hands recalls the school motto of 'Growing, caring, learning Hand in Hand'.
His love of games will now live on at the school through this stained glass window in his memory.
